Day 1 — Ulaanbaatar to Ölgii: Day 1 — Ulaanbaatar to Ölgii: Fly to Bayan-Ölgii, Mongolia’s westernmost province. Meet your guide and transfer to your first ger camp.

Day 2 — Ölgii town and Eagle Hunter introduction: Visit the local market and meet your host eagle hunting family. Learn the history of Kazakh eagle hunting and see the birds up close for the first time.

Day 3–4 — Horseback ride to Tavan Bogd: Ride into the high Altai toward Mongolia’s five sacred peaks. Camp in the mountains with views of permanent glaciers and snow-capped ridgelines stretching into China and Russia.

Day 5–6 — Eagle hunting demonstrations: The heart of this Mongolia eagle hunter tour. Ride with the eagle hunters across open steppe and mountain terrain. Watch golden eagles — with 2-metre wingspans — stoop and hunt at speeds over 150km/h.

Day 7 — Tsagaan Gol (Milky River): Explore the pristine river valley, one of the most scenically spectacular areas in all of western Mongolia.

Day 8–9 — Deep ger stay with eagle hunter family: Live fully with the family — help train young eagles, learn to make traditional Kazakh felt textiles, share meals of freshly slaughtered lamb and homemade bread.

Day 10 — Final riding and farewell: Last morning ride across the Altai steppe. A farewell dinner with your host family before returning to Ölgii.

Day 11 — Return to Ulaanbaatar: Morning flight back to the capital.

Kazakh hunters train golden eagles (Aquila chrysaetos) from chicks, spending years building a bond of complete trust between hunter and bird. A trained hunting eagle lives with the family inside the ger, sleeps on a special perch, and works alongside its hunter for 10 years before being released back to the wild.
